NMEA Innovation in Music Education GrantThe purpose of this award is to recognize and honor an NMEA member for excellence in music education in the integration and sustaining of innovative practices in the music classroom. “Innovation” can refer to new curriculum, types of ensembles, experiences for students, technology engagement, diversity/equity/inclusion/access/belonging engagement, and more. This grant of up to $300 should be used to directly support students in music programs. It could be used for curricular materials, instruments, sheet music, bringing in clinicians or guests, technology, other equipment, or other needs. The deadline to apply is September 15 at 11:59 a.m. Central Time. APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS1. The applicant must be an NMEA member. 2. The applicant must by actively teaching in Nebraska. 3. The applicant must include a resume. 4. The applicant must include a letter of recommendation from a supervisor (principal, administrator, curriculum specialist, etc.) 5. Grant recipients will be asked to provide invoices or receipts for purchases, and will submit a brief article or video* about the implementation of their project to be published or shared by NMEA the following year. *Videos involving students will require each student to submit a release form.
