NMEA's Magazine - The Nebraska Music Educator

The Nebraska Music Educator is published three times per year - July, October, and February - with the cycle beginning in July. Each issue focuses on a particular topic. The July issue features important back-to-school information while the October issue previews the annual All-State conference/clinic. Our February issue recognizes outstanding teaching throughout the state, and emphasizes advocacy, such as "Music Education Week."

The magazine is mailed to active NMEA members, teacher education institutions, NAfME Collegiate student chapter members, advertisers, libraries, and individual subscribers and is exchanged with similar publications across the country. Current circulation is approximately 1,100 copies per issue.

In January, the NMEA Board of Directors voted to transition the July and February issues of The Nebraska Music Educator to a digital magazine format. This decision was based on budgetary considerations and feedback from membership surveys. The October issue will remain in print so that it can continue to serve as the physical program book for our annual Conference/In-Service Clinic. Digital magazine issues will begin in 2025.

ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITIES

Beginning in July 2024, NMEA is implementing a new package model for advertising reservations. The new ad package system means that you only need to make one advertising choice and one purchase for the entire magazine cycle with the same deadline each year. The cycle begins with the first issue in July and ends after the third issue in February. NMEA Sponsors will be contacted first so that you can have early access and first right of refusal to the limited quantities of premium ad packages and ad placements. The deadline for advertising package reservations will be June 5. Reservations made after the July Issue may be accepted at a prorated price.
